A metal coating is applied on the surface of an object to enhance its value by improving the object’s appearance, imparting a corrosion resistive property, to achieve durability enhancement for long-lasting, etc. The procedure involves the deposition of a thin layer of a metallic substance onto the object. A metal coating could be applied to metals and non-metals alike for standard preservation. Some important process used for metal coating is Electroplating, Galvanisation, Electroforming, Anodising. Whereas Powder coating stripping is the process of removing powder coats that are on the metal surface. There are three main ways for the removal of power coats first by using a chemical stripper, second by media blasting and third by a burn-off oven. Out of the three methods, the most preferred is the use of Chemical Stripper. This method uses a chemical like B17 to strip the metal off of its powder coat. It is by far the easiest and fastest method for powder coat stripping.

Theoretically, metal salts are substances that are formed when hydrogen in an acid gets replaced by a metal. This is carried out in practice by reacting metal oxides with the acid. Every existing acid gives its particular set of Salt, for example, Sulfates are formed through the reaction of Sulphuric acid and metals, Chlorides are formed by carrying out a reaction between Hydrochloric acid and metals, Nitrates are a result of the reaction between Nitric acid and metals. These salts are popularly used for electroplating, production of dyes and pigments, for carrying out galvanization, in pesticides for protecting plants from pest, etc. Some examples of routinely used salts are Ammonium Dichlorate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium chloride is also known as the table salt, etc.

Paint and powder coating stripper are substances that effectively remove all traces of powder or paint coat. They have a high concentration of methylene chloride which effortlessly removes any powder or paint coat from the metal surface.

Stainless steel pickling and passivation.

Stainless steel pickling is used to breakdown a thin metal layer from the stainless steel object. This is achieved by solutions of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. Stainless steel passivation is the removal of free iron from the stainless steel surface by nitric or citric acid. This results in the formation of a protective oxide layer that prevents corrosion.
