Lead

Lead Ingots

Lead is a bluish-white lustrous metal. It is very soft, highly malleable, ductile, and a relatively poor conductor of electricity. It is very resistant to corrosion but tarnishes upon exposure to air.

The single most important commercial use of lead is in the manufacture of lead-acid storage batteries. Lead is also employed as protective shielding against X rays and radiation from nuclear reactors. It can be processed into sheet lead for construction purposes for example used as roofing material or flashings.

Lead is also used as counterbalance weights for lifts, cranes and for ballast in the boating industry.

Most important commercial use of lead is in the manufacture of lead-acid storage batteries, covering cables, protective shielding against X rays and radiation from nuclear reactors and balancing in marine boats and sporting vehicles.

Our lead sheets are used for roofing requirements, as well as for radiation shielding and sound proofing, e.g. in hospitals, radiology surgeries and in acoustics.

Lead Shots

Excellent for ballast applications due to its flexibility and ability to fill a shape. Used in various situations, especially where a dense, pourable weight is required. Lead shot is often used as a radiation shielding material that can be poured in-between small shielding walls and seams. Lead shot is easily melted and can be cast into whatever form is required.

Lead Anodes

lead anodes are used for lead plating, especially in the automotive industry for the manufacture of bearings. purity of lead anodes is higher than 99.7%. The solution is usually based on lead fluoborate.

Lead is also used in the anodization of aluminum as a cathode.
